What is this site?

Spacious Planet is a world travel guide. We also have a friends section where you can find friends and penpals.

Spacious Planet currently has travel blogs, photos, articles and forums. We are always adding more features.

We tend to go much deeper than just travel. We get really into the popular culture, history, fashion etc.. of countries. The best example of this right now is in our Japan section.

Spacious Planet is a work in progress. We don't have every country yet. If you have suggestions don't hesitate to contact us. Please make lots of posts ... I depend on your help to make this site better.

Is this site free?

Yes, there are no charges for anything on this site.

How do I meet friends or penpals?

First, you need to sign up. Sign up is simple and free.

I am having trouble registering, what should I do?

The steps to register are:
1. Fill out the registration form.
2. Check your email. We will send you a confirmation email.
3. Visit the link in the email to activate your account.
4. We will send you a welcome email. Now you can logon, send messages etc...

If you do not receive the confirmation email:
1. Check your spam filter. You need to tell your spam filter to accept email from spaciousplanet.com. Your confirmation email may be in your bulk email folder.
2. You can resend the email.
3. You may have mistyped your email address. Try filling out the registration form again.
4. Tryed everything but nothing works? You may need to sign up using a different email. We recommend signing up for a free gmail account and telling the spam filter to accept emails from spaciousplanet.com.

If you received the confirmation email but the link does not work:
Use our manual confirmation page and cut and paste the code that we sent you.

If I post my profile on your site, will people see my email address?

We do not display or sell your email. Please don't put your email postings or you will get lots of spam! Spacious Planet works to protect your privacy.

Why has nobody sent me a message?

This is a very popular site and normally you can meet lots of friends who have the same interests as you.

In every topic you can see a list of people interested in that topic. For example, a list of friends on this site that are interested in Japan.

If you are not receiving messages make sure that you show interests in topics by posting in the forums, blogs or just upload some photos.

It is also helpful to upload a few images of yourself and describe yourself in detail on your profile.

I have received an unsuitable message, what should I do?

1. Report the message as spam. The person will likely get banned from the site after the Admin reviews the case.

2. Do not reply to the person - just ignore them. Remember that they have not seen your email address. If you continue to receive unsuitable email, we would advise you to login and remove your profile, and this will immediately stop any emails being sent to you. If you have replied to the person and they know your email address you should add them to your blocked addresses or spam filter. Or just simply ignore them.

3. Remember that under no circumstances should you disclose personal information about yourself to anyone you meet through this service. For your safety, read our terms of service before using this site.
