Bonsai
Bonsai is the Japanese art of miniaturizing trees. Bonsai are not genetically different from normal sized trees. Bonsai stay small because they are kept in a small container and they are pruned regularly. Pruning a bonsai is an art.
Japanese Bonsai is based upon the Chinese art of PenJing. Bonsai are normally more stylized then PenJing. In recent years Bonsai have become very popular outside Japan.
