Cosplay (コスプレ) is a Japanese abbreviation of "Costume Play" which has become a part of the English language. Cosplay is a popular subculture of wearing costumes which are based upon video games, manga, anime, films or fictional characters.

Ganguro was a fashion trend that was popular with young Japanese girls in the late 1990's. The Ganguro look is a little hard to define but usually involves a dark tan, brightly colored hair, clothing and accessories.
Ganguro fashion utilized a lot of make up. Ganguro girls often attempted to make the eyes appear very large like a anime character or something. As I mentioned it is a little hard to define so check out the photo's in this section to get a sense of the look.

Geta are a formal Japanese sandal worn with Yukata or Kimono. They are normally made of wood and cloth and elevated like platform shoes. The reason that Geta are elevated is to keep the Kimono from dragging on the ground.
