Switzerland is next with 500 patents per million people and the US third with 350 patents per million.
Thats right, the Japanese do a lot of research. Large Japanese corporations such as NEC Corporation, Canon Kabushiki Kaisha, Toshiba Corporation and Fujitsu Limited register thousands of patents every year.
