Saipan
Saipan is the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands which is part of the United States. Saipan is a small tropical island about 15 kilometers long and 9 kilometers wide and has a population of about 60,000. Its location in the Pacific Ocean about 3000 kilometers south west of Tokyo makes it a prime destination for tourism. It is one of the closest Tropical islands to Japan, Korea and parts of Russia. Saipan gets so many Japanese tourists that you may feel that more locals can speak Japanese than English. In fact, most of the hotels answer the telephone in Japanese. There are also growing numbers of Korean, Chinese and Russian tourists boosting the local economy.
