Vientiane

Located on the Mekong Delta, Vientiane is among the quietest and least polluted capitals of Asia. This town of about 200,000 seems stuck in time. It is a great place to have a few beers and watch the world tick by but don't expect the exciting nightlife of neighbouring capitals such as Bangkok.

There are some interesting Temples and Stupas around town and the city feels like an ancient capital growing out of the jungle.
