50 Best Movie Posters Of All Time

posted by samari, Spacious Planet, May 08, 2012

Movie posters go back as long as movies themselves. Posters have always been used to promote films. A good movie poster can help boost sales and generate buzz about upcoming features (teasers).

Collecting original movie posters is a popular hobby that has become lucrative for some collectors. A rare movie poster can sell for six figures.

Movie posters represent the film and often the director herself/himself has creative control of posters. Other times the posters may be left up to the movie promotion agency. Either way, movie posters are often just as creative as the film itself (and in some cases the poster is better than the the film).
