Impressions
      Daikakuji is a medium sized wooden structure that was once the home of an Emperor. It is worth a visit and is close to the center of Kyoto.

Details
      Daikakuji is temple devoted to the Esoteric sect of Buddhism. It is in the Saga district of Kyoto.

Like many Kyoto temples this temple was once a family home belonging to Emperor Saga.

This temple has some famous fusuma paintings from the Momoyama period and other cultural treasures.

Advice
      Address and info:
4 Osawa-cho, Saga, Ukyo, Kyoto
Open from 9:00 to 16:30
Take "City Bus" or "Kyoto Bus" to Daikakuji.
