Tokyo is a wonderful city for the traveller. But it may not be what you expect. Don't come here with too many expectations. Try to leave your mind open. You will experience some culture shock but don't get angry and don't complain about how things are better at home. Then you will enjoy.
I recommend always having a specific plan and goal when going out. Just wondering around aimlessly does not work so well here unless you are lucky. Do lots of research! |

I guess I have been to most major neighbourhoods in Tokyo. There are literally 50+ resonably big neighbourhoods around. Tokyo is very wide and spread. Popular with tourists are shibuya, roppongi, harajuku etc... The local expats like roppongi, shinjuku, shibuya, shimokitazawa, kichijoji, sangenjaya etc... |

Most fun things:
1. People watching in Shibuya / Harajuku / Omotesando etc..
2. Shopping in ginza, shinjuku, omotesando, shibuya.
3. Clubbing in shibuya or roppongi.
4. Walk around a red light district such as in Shibuya or Shinjuku.
5. Go to Freshness Burger or Moss Burger.
6. Drink at an Izakaya.
7. Take a crazy busy train in the morning. Actually this is not even close to fun. But unique maybe. |
