Sapporo is a wide city that looks like a mix of east and west. I guess thats a little cliché but its true that Sapporo has a western feel. The city was designed by German planners. The city is layed out in a grid pattern similar to North American cities. Potatos are more popular than rice here! There are loads of foreign tourists attracted by the amazing snowboarding. |

Sapporo is Japan’s biggest winter sports destination. It is a large city and the capital of the island of Hokkaido. There are powdery ski slopes within its city limits during the winter months.
Sapporo has an annual snow festival in which a spectacular selection of massive ice sculptures fill Odori Park.
Year round Sapporo is renowned as the best place in Japan to eat with excellent seafood, potatos etc.... |

Sappro is nice in the summers too. There is a dancing festival in the spring that is amazing. I have travelled all around Japan and its my favorite spot. |
