Hakuba has 3 ski areas that are all linked. I believe you can get separate passes or a pass for all three.
The resotes are Hakuba 47 and Goryu-Toomi and Happo. Happo was used in the Nagano olympics and is reasonably challenging terrain. Happo is mostly skiiers ... and there are lots of skilled people around. If you are a beginner snowboarder you might not like this place. Advanced snowboarders will fit it just fine.
Hakuba 47 has a big fun park and is a little more popular with snowboarders.

Worst things about this place
| |
Snow is not as good as some places in Niigata and Hokkaido. I feel that snow is a little wet and the season ends early. Last year (2006) the moutains were bare in Nagano ... signs of things to come with global warming I am afraid. This year has been great in Nagano and the snow is back.

I recommend hotel Yamano. This is a nice hotel near the lifts. It is run by 2 brothers ... one of their wives is a nice Romanian lady. They speak English. It has nice views surrounding the hotel.

Don't go later then March 1st. The snow is better in other places late in the season.
