Nope, they have had plenty of names:

1936 to 1943 - Nagoya Club
1944 - Sangyo
1945 to 1946 - Chubu Nihon
1946 to 1947 - Chunichi Dragons
1947 to 1950 - Nagoya Dragons
1951-present - Chunichi Dragons
